Born in Yosemite on July 7, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Robert McDowell and Roberta Carr Murphy Fogle.
She was a homemaker and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES). She was the widow of Albert E. Bucciere.
Survivors include a sister, Roberta Murphy Settles; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers; James McDowell, Francis Gordon, William Robert and Thomas Kenton and four sisters, Catherine Lee Cubert, Martha Clay Short, Mary Louise Kaufman-Addison and Lanelle Clack.
