Reflections just after sunrise in the dark water of the Rio Negro are nearly perfect and only slightly dimmer than the original forest.
Clouds look better in the darker reflection, where they are not over-exposed.

This is not the main Rio Negro, but an Igapó beside it.

Rio Negro is one of the two main tributaries which join to form the Amazon River.

An Igapó is a stretch of forest which is flooded during the high water season. What looks like land in the picture is only floating weeds, where small cayman and other swimming animals live. We are looking at the forest canopy because most of the tree trunks are under water.
