I've used maiden names first followed by current where they've changed. Names have a hyperlink to take you to the applicable picture. Where someone missed having their picture taken, then (surprise surprise) no link! There are a couple of recent pictures below, click them to see full size. After various jobs and a stint of TEFL teaching in Spain and Paris, I decided to go back and study something useful. I chose a Masters in Library and Information Studies. Now, I am that most glamorous of creatures, a Chartered Librarian (actually the current terminology is Information Professional). Since qualifying, I've worked for a year in Hong Kong and the rest of the time in London, for engineering consultancies and business information units. I'm currently working in the City but about to go off travelling for a couple of months to the Far East.I live with Oliver, "boyfriend" of 11 years, in East Croydon. OK. What have I been up to? 4-year degree in politics/french at University of Kent after
Ruskin, with the year abroad in Aix-en-Provence. After Uni, dole and all that shite for a while until I got an
English teaching job in Turin, Italy, where I lived for a year. Came back, worked in animated film as a cameraman, then on dole for 6 months, then retrained thru Employment Training program and got a job in publishing as a DTP-designer. Got my job here 5 years ago at Imagination in London (designers of the Millennium Dome) on the basis of what I learnt in my last job. Now a IT Network Manager.
Own my house in Peckham, not married (recently split up, sold the communal home, made a packet, bought this gaff), no kids, two cats, sad single-bloke sexy sports car. Any offers? After graduating, I worked for a small software company in Croydon for five years honing my skills and, more importantly, getting enough money to buy a decent suit. When I tired of that, I moved on to work as an IT Analyst for Pepsi-Cola International, where I was based in Richmond. My job included a lot of travel, particularly to Europe - the best bit, however, was collecting all those Air Miles. This year, I took a (very) small step up the corporate ladder and moved to New York, working at Pepsi-Cola HQ but determined to preserve my South London accent. On the personal side, I remain unmarried and fatherless, but my girlfriend and I have been together now for nearly three years, so that might change..! I hung about in Aber for another couple of years doing a bit of voluntary work/being unemployed for a while then did an NVQ in General Business Admin, learned to type etc. and got a temporary "placement" as admin assistant at the University Drama Dept. After that I went to the University of Kent and did a 1 year Postgraduate Diploma in Vocational Techniques for Career Linguists (which - for a variety of fiscal reasons - proved to be a complete turkey as regards getting a job as a translator). I spent 3 months in summer '94 working as an apprentice translator in Maastricht but it didn't lead to anything permanent and I had to come home. Then a had a variety of temporary secretarial/admin jobs from then until '96 when I took a permanent position as Team Organiser with Railtrack. I was there until last December and since January have been working as a Presentation Graphics Operator with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter bank at Canary Wharf. I live in Croydon. After a stint working for Butlins I moved into IT, working in operations and then systems management before moving into communications about 10 years ago. I moved up the ranks through support, design, pre-sales consultancy and 2 years ago took up contracting as a network designer/consultant. I spent the last year working in Amsterdam, Berlin, Hong Kong and Munich before deciding I had had enough of the contracting world and came back to the UK to take a permanent job. I started working for the Professional Services department of Cisco Systems as a Project Consultant last week. I live in South Croydon and I am currently single. Well obviously not as a lot compared to my Ruskin peer group - resat a few A's to raise grade; inter-railed through Europe; did a BA (Hons) Business Studies course at Bristol Poly (now Uniersity of WOE!!??); gradutaed in the depth of the 1991 recession; temped - longedt time at Croyon Council (bumped into a Alison Smith there); joined HSBC Midland Banks graduate programme - went to work in Wales and Birmingham before coming back to London - where after 8 months I upset one of the regional mangers nevertheless I persevered (bumping into Wendy Chowne there; heck she I believe was left with the task of signing me out of Midland) then left to join another bank they pulled out of the market; went to work at Canary Wharf (the floor where the beacon is) to cut a long story short since 1993 I've worked for 7 companies the last of which I joined circa 3 months ago -IBJ situated across the road from St. Paul's Cathedral where I'm a Credit Analyst. That's work.Extra -curricular, I've been scuba diving here and there, playing hockey on a regular basis - (played in festivals held in Worthing & 2 weeks ago Bognor!!); indulging in the club scene; etc etc. Still single, solvent (albeit still in Croydonia), have my sports car, full head of hair (albeit with those signs of maturity - graying?!!) and in shape.
