Text Box: Retribution

The title says it all. Young man wronged for the right he fought hard to preserve.. Stan Cooper makes a stand against a corporate institution. It was a fight that he knew he couldn't win when he started, but sometimes a man has to stand up for what is right. The battle cost him an unacceptable loss. See what happens next. If you liked Harry’s New Life then you’ll love Retribution.

Lost and Found

This is a love story and suitable for all readers. Sonny is a hard working blue-collar man trying to make a better life for himself. He meets Marcy, a studious young woman with a goal to teach. They meet through Marcy’s uncle, Amos Bryant, who is an older gentleman with more character than one would suspect by first impression. He is one of my favorite characters and I think that you’ll like him too. Meet him and his niece, Marcy, and see how she and Sonny overcome personal obstacles and develop a lifelong friendship.

Heartless

Heartless was fun to write. It is action-adventure, and about a sociopath living in New York who becomes friends with a rock and roll female vocalist. There friends, an aspiring actress and a reclusive writer, make the setting for the story that takes the singer and the hired killer to the west coast where the hit man learns that someone is out to hit him. Human drama and an unexpected ending make this story one of my favorite works. .

Cragan’s Journey

My first work The frontier setting where Cragan's Journey takes place is in south-eastern America in the early 1800's. It is pure fiction and comes strictly from the heart and mind of the author. The story is about a man who found solitude in the wilderness and reacquaints himself with society out of necessity. Hunter, the character in this novel, travels to town on foot with a portion of his winter harvest to trade for basic necessities. He finds a new existence for himself through the friends he meets along the way. The madam of a gentleman's club, the daughter of the trader, and the black man who owns the restaurant beside the brothel make the background setting for a man searching to find himself .

Too Close to Home

A collection of short stories in a variety of themes that range from adolescent adventure to humor, to a couple on the darker side. I have submitted a few of these in competitions but only one has been accepted thus far. I’d like to share some of these on this website when I get more familiar with it.

Distant Cousins

"We’re more than friends, David, we're more like cousins. Not blood kin because that would be insestious."

Those words come as I worked on a novel containing more detail dealing with the romantic and emotional experiences of my characters. David and Bernie are lovers with an age difference. Heartaches follow when Bernie finds interest in another man and David finds comfort in Bernie’s cousin, who recently moved from Mississippi. This story is emotionally charged and contains some graphic sexual encounters. I have just completed the draft and will proof read it as soon as I catch my breath. If you like traditional romance, this book is for you. You haven’t read them all until you read this one.

Sunset House

Written in a similar style as my first work, Cragan’s Journey. A western setting that describes a man who has found a place for himself until circumstances demand from him a regression to his previous his life that he has tried to forget. Life events captured in a western setting with a measure of romance and violence tossed in to give the story spice and keep it real. This is a work in progress and has developed as a sequel to my first work.

Harry’s New Life Invites you to follow Harrison Becker’s adventures from the painful separation from his family to and unknown and adventuresome existence where hopes to find a place in society.  He meets some interesting characters along the way and finds himself in uncertain situations.

The setting for the story is in the mountains of North Carolina, but Harry travels around the southeast as an agent for Davis, a dealer in electronic equipment that has been acquired by questionable means.  He is guided by a barmaid he met in a small mountain town, but loses contact with her on a critical and potentially dangerous mission.  Harry is determined to complete his assignment.  He returns to the North Carolina mountains to find his contact, Shelia, who has been kidnapped and sexually exploited by a rogue lawman.

This piece was interesting to write and I hope you find it entertaining and thoughtful.  It is available to order on line at any major bookstore.  Harry’s New Life is one of several books I’ve written and the first to be available in print.
