Mancamp Weekend Sept 21st 2002 |

I took the girls for one last mancamp weekend the weekend of Sept 21st, this is the last weekend where the water is bearable for the girls, after that, the nights get longer and cooler and not very swimmable. This was also the infamous weekend that I hacked up my leg in the windsurfing accident. Took the girls apple picking on Saturday morning and just enjoyed a great early autumn day. |

The girls and I do this a couple of times every autumn, the ritualistic trip to the apple orchard up in Wilton, Maine. This year they were only selling half bushels so we had apples straight through until christmas time this year! |

Here's a good mosaic of the north end of Locke pond. As you can see from the pictures, this lake has hardly been developed at all, for good reason... the entire north end of the lake is swampy, so it will remain pretty pristine. That's the cherubs fishing off the dock, the sunnys and perch are pretty aggressive right there. |

As you can see, my daughters are not very squeemish! Alletta found this little snake by the square and kept him in her custody most of the day. After a while, Laura loo warmed up to the little critter too. Funny thing is, he made no attempt to get away. |
