Mancamp, Winter style! February 2002 |
Occasionally in the winter time I'll take the girls up to the mancamp. Despite having no running water and it's always a challenge to get the place heated to more than 55 degrees, we always have a good time! These photos were taken on the weekend of Feb 11th, 2002. |

One of the big problems at the mancamp is the lack of a good stove. The stove I have can not burn all night overnight. So I either have to wake up at 4:00am and reload the stove, or we wake up freezing, this was one such morning! The girls hibernate in my room when this happens and cuddle up to the space heater. |

Once the place is heated up the girls recovered nicely, played on the top bunk for a while and got ready for an afternoon out in the white fluffy stuff... |

This was the girls first attempt at skating, not too bad! It took me about 45 minutes to clear off a sufficient plot of ice for them to play on, but once done, they had a field day! Alletta was a bit more brave and Laura loo was, I suspect, having alot of fun tipping Alletta over. They were out there for almost an hour, not too bad considering it was about 15 degrees out! |

Laura tried sledding once, that's enough for her, she's much more like her mom... sledding WOULD be alot of fun if you could do it from indoors and it were 70 degrees! Alletta takes much more after her dad in this respect, cold doesn't bother her at all. If you look closely behind Alletta in the picture on the right, you'll see my refractor mounted on the eq mount getting ready for a night under the stars. |
