The Gallery of 8-11 Oct. 2005
I realized the other day that due to data transfer limits, I can't put anything remotely hi-res on here. So I have a separate Kodak account where I'm putting more and better quality photos. Just follow this link, and click where it says "View Photos without signing in."
The keep of Castle Cardiff.
The interns began our trip to Wales the morning of October 8, 2005. Depicted here is a  Welsh flag, but not the official Welsh flag (which is a red dragon on a green field). This one was hanging in Castle Cardiff.
One more shot from the heights of the castle...
A view from the parapet
The Cardiff skyline from the castle.
You can see the Millenium Stadium from here.
...and a new low in castle touring (but note the anachronistic juxtaposition of badminton, castle walls, and artillery).
The Tower of London keeps ravens; Cardiff keeps peacocks. I guess it's just a matter of preference.
A carousel at the town centre.  If only the "Crazy Bus" hadn't been taken...guess the fire truck will do.
Mining has been a staple of the Welsh economy since the beginnings of the industrial revolution
We actually got to tour some of the mines but for safety reasons could only take pictures outside (no dry cell batteries in the shaft).
The mountains are gorgeous
Well, I'll let you be the judge.
This is just a lake atop a mountain. There are some great falls around here as well.
And there are free ranging sheep all over the place. They outnumber humans 30:1.
A lip-synching mime at the town centre.
This little piggy went to market; this little piggy didn't come home...
The day after I got back, a number of us went to the UCL Freshers' Ball. It was a lot of fun. I'm not even going to try to name everybody in the picture, but the ones I hang out with most include Jude (3rd from left), Thomas (7th from left), Steve (right behind Thomas) , Chris (far back), Rob (barely visible between Steve and me), Asher (in front of me to the right), and Alex (2nd from right).
