Continuing with Spain.
1) Vinos Sin-Ley G-2 Garnacha 2005 (Spain). This was recommended by a store as an alternative to Las Rocas old vine garnacha and it falls far short of that mark. It's not a bad wine, just not extraordinary, and for a brand which basically means wine without law I thought this tasted more like a boy scout of a wine than an anarchist.
2) Panuelo Tempranilla Grenache 2002 (Spain). Another alternative to Las Rocas which doesn't compare. HOWEVER, I genuinely like this wine, I consider it a value worth repeating, and was really pleasantly surprised. It most reminds me of a chianti.
You know there were three wines I was recommended when I couldn't find Las Rocas anymore. M4 and Vinos Sin-Ley were the two pricier choices and neither impress me. Panuelo was the cheapest of the 3 and I think it's a nice find. I recommend Panuelo.
And I want to add at this point I've tried 5 different Spanish wines and none were bad, 3 were ordinary but still drinkable, 2 I thought were very good. Viva Espana.
