Wine Drank by John Jaster
I went from tea totaler to Wine Century Club member and have tried 156 different wine grapes in three years.
Frei Brothers Redwood Creek Chardonnay; Chateau Ste Michelle Chardonnay

Frei Brothers Vineyars, Redwood Creek, California Chardonnay, 2007 - The big name on the label says Redwood Creek and that's a mass produced cheap brand; the smaller print says Frei Brothers and that's a step up in winery quality and they make a Merlot I greatly enjoyed; and I believe Frei is owned in turn by the Gallo giant.  Anyway I bought this $5 range Chardonnay thinking it would just be a cheap low end white but I'll admit it was pretty good, easily equal to the Trader Joe's market equivalents in which cheap Chardonnays drink like they're worth $10 instead of $5.  So I was pleased.  Still though it just scores 5 out of 10 for low average.

Chateau Ste Michelle, Chardonnay, 2007 (Columbia Valley, Washington) - Priced over $10 and from a label we often liked before I expected this Chardonnay to score upper average perhaps.  Wrong.  It was quite boring and unremarkable.  Simply 5 out of 10 for lower average.
