Sutter Home Family Vineyards, Chardonnay, 2007 (California) - This is a mass produced cheap Chardonnay which Nancy has personally bought a few times over the years so I personally brought one home to try. It is what it is. No frills, no surprises, but a drinkable Chardonnay. 5 out of 10 for lower average.
Purple Moon, Chardonnay 2007, Shiraz 2006 (California) - This is one of the Trader Joe's $5 of less brands of wine. Fun name, funky label, nice description in the store, but it turned out in this case the wines are actually below average both scoring no better than a 4 out of 10. The Chardonnay is the more drinkable yet Nancy still had me pour it out after just one glass. I managed to drink 3 glasses of the Shiraz but I'm not sure why because it simply reminded me of weak cough syrup.
Manischewitz, American Concord Grape (USA) - I only bought this so I could cross Concord off on my list of wine grapes. The best thing about Manischewitz is the bottling - a square wine bottle with an oversized screw cap and a colorful label. Inside you get a foul smelling bouquet and a wine which is weak but sweet and a little sickening to the stomach. 2 out of 10. I literally had just about two sips of this before pouring the rest of the bottle out.
