Wine Drank by John Jaster
I went from tea totaler to Wine Century Club member and have tried 156 different wine grapes in three years.
Blackstone Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon; Eos Novella Chardonnay and Synergy

Blackstone Winery, Chardonnay Monterrey County 2007, Merlot California 2006, Cabernet Sauvignon California 2006 - This is an ubiquitous $8-$10 brand of wine and I honestly wasn't expecting much.  Both the Chardonnay and Merlot were typical lower average 5 out of 10 rated wines, nothing wrong with them but nothing to get excited about either.  The Cabernet Sauvignon however was much better than I expected and had better than average body and flavor for a cheap wine, so I'd give that a 6 out of 10.  I'd say Blackstone is a respectable affordable cheap wine if that's what your price range allows.

Eos Estate Winery, Novella, Chardonnay Paso Robles (no year), Synergy Paso Robles 2006 (California) - This is a cheap $5-$7 range of wines carried by Trader Joe's.  Although the Chardonnay was nothing special (fine for low average 5 out of 10, just nothing special) we both really liked the red called Synergy (for upper average, 6 out of 10).  I remember the red had Syrah and Sangiovese but I don't recall the rest of the makeup.  Anyway for the price range this is a good buy.
