Wine Drank by John Jaster
I went from tea totaler to Wine Century Club member and have tried 156 different wine grapes in three years.
Chambers Muscadelle; Bonny Doon Muscat Vin de Glacier; Smoky Hill Winery Norton

Chambers, Rosewood Vineyards, Muscadelle (Tokay)(Rutherglen, Australia) - This is quite the famous sweet wine from Australia.  Our tasting group found it intensely sweet and with almost a cough syrup taste, although in this case most of us considered that a compliment (whereas I've used that description to slam other wines).  This sample is very thick, sugary, flavorful, and packs some alcohol.  Due to it's intense flavor I'll go with an 8 out of 10 for this, although I'll admit it's not my favorite type of sweet wine.

Bonny Doon Vineyards, Muscat Vin de Glacier (California) - This is the Muscat Blanc (aka Muscat Petit Grains) grape which we sampled before in our work tasting group.  What was really nice with this sample is it's such a simple pure clean sweetness.  It's just a delight to drink.  No cloying, no syrupy buildup on your lips, just a really nice muscat.  8 out of 10.

Smoky Hill Vineyards, Norton, 2006 (Salina, Kansas) - A sample I brought back from a visit to family.  Our tasting group, to my pleasant surprise, all found this a reasonably drinkable red.  It has a strong fruit bouquet (stronger than the actual flavor), a decent red fruit taste, and a middle weight body.  And even though it's a New World grape it wasn't "foxy" or cloying like so many of those other grapes are described.  Anyway, an acceptable red, not a standout, but I'd give it a solid 5 out of 10 for lower average.
