Wine Drank by John Jaster
I went from tea totaler to Wine Century Club member and have tried 156 different wine grapes in three years.
Bacalhoa Moscatel de Setubal; Domaine de Belliviere Pineau D'Aunis; Sattler St. Laurent

Bacalhoa, Moscatel de Setubal, 2001 (Colheita, Portugal) - This was a fun and delicious find.  I bought it wonderin if Muscat de Setubal were a unique grape and then looked it up.  It turns out it's primarily the Muscat of Alexandria grape but it includes some blending of other Muscats as well.  Anyway, this golden sweet wine really has a pronounced and unique flavor.  You get the sweetness of any pumped up Muscat Blanc style wine but also some complexity and uniqueness.  Really the flavor was hard to put a finger on and describe.  Tasty, rich, exotic, unique.  I'll score this 9 out of 10.  No wonder it's a world famous sweet wine yet unique enough that not everyone has heard of it.

Domaine de Belliviere, Le Rouge-Gorge (Pineau D'Aunis), 2004 (Coteaux de Loir, France) - This was one of the more unique reds we've tried in our tasting group at work and I'd say it's an acquired taste because clearly not everyone is going to like it.  In weight I'd compare it to a Pinot Noir.  In flavor you definitely get spiciness - to me I'd say white pepper and green pepper.  There's also a lead pencil or graphite taste which we read the grape is famous for.  And yes there are fruit flavors which I personally had trouble describing although the Russian immigrants on our tasting team immediately said it reminded them of a black currants taste and smell they remembered.  In terms of taste and finish this was clearly a quality wine.  My only negative was to me the smell reminded me of wild thistles in Kansas, not a pleasant memory of my own.  Anyway this was interesting and clearly above average for a 7 out of 10.

Sattler, St. Laurent, 2006 (Burgenland, Austria) - This had a foul smell when we pulled the cork which diminished over time so we probably should have let it breathe awhile or decanted it.  Otherwise the taste and weight were much like a Pinot Noir and had good flavors.  I guess it's no surprise because it is a relative of that grape.  Anyway half our tasting group at work didn't care much for it, plus the flavors were pretty average for a Pinot Noir varietal, so just 5 out of 10 for lower average.
