Wine Drank by John Jaster
I went from tea totaler to Wine Century Club member and have tried 156 different wine grapes in three years.
Machmer Gewurztraminer; Edmeades Zinfandel; Rancho Zabaco Zinfandel

G&M Machmer Weingut, Bechtheimer Stein Gewuztraminer Spatlese, 2006 (Germany) - This was highly recommended by a store owner and I'll admit I enjoyed it but it has more emphasis on the sweet style (Spatlese) than it shows character of the grape.  I actually liked it a little better after it warmed up.  Still, good stuff.  6 out of 10 for upper average.

Edmeades, Zinfandel, 2006 (Mendocino County, California) - I've read that this is a classic example of a well made good value Zinfandel.  It's a nice bold zin, not overdone, with pepper and fruit.  Personally I didn't find it to be a standout, just an upper average zin for 6 out of 10.

Rancho Zabaco, Sonoma Heritage Vines, Zinfandel, 2006 (Sonoma County, California) - I've read reviews on this as well claiming it is an excellent quality zin for an affordabe price.  Again, although I enjoyed it and found it to be a basic all around zin it wasn't really a standout ot me, so just 6 out of 10.
