| Well the road trip of my senior year involved my seven closest friends and three fine cities of the Midwest. Our week starts with a trip to Indianapolis. Caroline, David, Veto and I head to Palak and Jeff's apartment. We go out to dinner with Palak at Ruby Tuesdays. To say the service was less than stellar is to say that the boiling water is hot. A definitive understatement! The waiter was pushy and did not come back for our orders. We tipped him poorly and he proceeds to ask if we want to see the manager. Co tells him that he can figure it out on his own. We go back to the apartment and enjoy ourselves a little with just staying up and talking the shit. Co gets up the next morning and goes to a job fair. We go as a group to the Children's Museum and have a lot of fun. We built the arch and damned the water in the river display. We enjoyed the museum at 20 as much as many of the under 10 year olds did. Of course the highlight of the Indianapolis leg of the trip was the Twig Bed. Do you Want to Sleep in the Twig Bed? The next day we headed off to New Albany and Louisville to hang out with Tina. She took us first to a site for rescued animals. There we saw mean emus that tried to take food from all the other animals unless we threw them off by tossing the crackers away. Plus there were little goats. One little goat was escaping the grasp of two girls that were trying to corral it for some reason. After that we went to the riverfront. After some playing with frisbees and pedal carts, Tina and Veto went to church while Kevin, David, Co and I continued to play frisbee until dusk. The pedal carts were really funny since we ran them everywhere and anywhere. Then frisbee until dark on top of that really wore us out. Co, David, Kevin and I enjoyed some appetizers at a riverfront restaurant while waiting for Veto and Tina's return. We then went for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Once our meal was finished we headed back to New Albany. We dropped off Kevin and headed to Katie's house to spend the night. Apparently I snore loudly. I forced Co and David into another room. Veto stayed with Tina so she could take him to the bus station to send him home for the rest of Spring Break. When we woke up we headed back to Greencastle, but the highlight of the trip would have to be the pedal carts! In Greencastle, Co recieved word that Max was not doing well. She headed to Terre Haute to see about him. I stayed in Greencastle and hung out with Wes, Mike, Q and a few others and we grilled out. It was a lot of fun, but I turned in early since I had to drive to Terre Haute to pick up Co and David so we could go to Chicago. For my early start I was rewarded with my first omelet. It was pretty good. We then departed for Chicago and made into Shedd Aquarium in time for the tail end of a dolphin show. Looking at the showtimes we thought the next one was going to start soon, but this one had just ended. They were two hours apart, but it was scheduled to start in 30 minutes. Well the start time came and the show did not feel up. We thought this odd. I finally looked at my cell phone and realized we had failed to compensate for Central Time. So the show was still an hour away. We spent a long time looking at the marine animals before finally deciding to go to the planeterium. In fact it was too late to see any of the shows. So we decided to go to the Field Museum in lieu of seeing the stars. The person selling tickets was nice enough to give us a discount since it was so late in the evening. We went around looking at a lot of different things. We saw gem stones and I showed David and Co the Sex Booth. It was quite funny. We then left Chicago during the middle of rush hour. We had a lot of fun trying to get out of the city. We fianlly made it. We got on our way to Lafayette to drop off David before Co and I went to Terre Haute to drop her off. I had a long, lonely trip back to Greencastle that night as well before I headed for Evansville and the end of my Spring Break Road Trip!! |
