I'm just writing my first book. It is about an eight yr old girl who loses her parents in an accident in a blizzard. She developes a phobia to winter and snow, believing that they are bad, ugly and murderous.

I am trying to improve on my short fiction and am building my confidence towards tackling that first novel! I'm not sure if my talent lies more in children's writing or adult yet. I enjoy both. I also write articles for a charity magazine and want to imp ove on those too. I was drawn to your site having lived in Rome for three years and find the stories and articles here really entertaining and well-written.

I am interested in having my short story critiqued. My short story is about 4 teachers who drive to school together in a car pool. The story reflects the state of the American public school system. Ironically, 3 of us have an Italian heritage.
