Checking For Rust
Fieros do rust. Under a nice smooth rust free exterior, you can have enough damage
to make the total car worthless. Here are some areas to watch out for.
This car was completely consumed by rust. I got most of my panels from it because they were still in good shape. Check the corners of the trunk, the frame at the top of the struts, and around the battery box. You may have to pull away some of the insulation, but it's best to know what's there.
This cradle is rusted beyond repair. It was so bad that the engine dropped and was only held up at the rear by the dog bone! The sad part about it was that it had a provincial mechanical inspection in another province just months before! Be safe, check this area out for yourself!
