Welcome to my small town memories
of Christmas past.
Sledding down the hill on runners sharpened by the ashes from the coal furnace.
Getting the tree on Christmas Eve. Once inside it was put in a bucket of rocks to hold it and if needed a string was tied around the trunk  and fastened to the wall.
Carolers actually singing songs about Jesus Christ!

Before Christmas vacation last day of school
in assembly we sang
"Joy to the World" and
other Christmas carols
Houses glowed with festive lights and decorations.   What a treat for the little childrens eyes and the grown ups.
A night was always set aside to drive around and look at the christmas lights.
Build a snowman with eyes made out of coal.   Coal the main source of steady heat.    An era gone by.
I remember when cars did not have front wheel drive but neighbors helped each other by putting ashes on the road so people could make it home.     Sadly, not allowed today, we are forced to wait on the township or the state to take care of the roads which doesn't always happen.
The elderly neighbors were helped and remembered during the holidays

MERRY CHRISTMAS
I hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane.  Create pleasant childhood memories for your children, it's so very important.  Parents enjoy your children, children enjoy your parents.    Time passes very quickly. We reap what we sow.   Sow kindness you will reap kindness.   Sow love you will reap love.  Sow hate you will reap hate.   Sow negativity, you will
reap negativity.  God is Love!
