We turned right by Lago Peho, pitched our tent and left most of our stuff before running north towards the glacier. We passed a small lake with cliffs that reminded us of the Stockholm archipelago. Then we reached the bigger lake Lago Grey with floating glacier blue 'calves' fed from the glacier. We followed a cosy path, passing small meadows mixed with forests and steep mini-valleys. When eventually reaching the glacier the wind was heavier than ever, making photo shooting almost impossible (the distant photo above was the best we got). On the other hand, the hour was late, and we would better get back to the tent before dark. The strong wind was on our side and we managed to reach the tent for dinner at half past ten.
The last day in the park was all about getting back to civilisation. Not that the weather was bad - it was the best in the park so far with great views of Cuernos del Paine behind Lago Peho (see right), but we were quite tired of the wildlife and I had got a relapse into my skin infection. After quite a long walk over vast fields of grass with playing horses, at times following the glaciar-green Ro Grey (see below), we reached the administrative center, where we caugth a bus back to Puerto Natales. The views from the bus were incredible and we could have stayed to enjoy the park a bit more, but in essence we were more happy to get back to Maria's warm and dry hospedaje room.
