Eric the Half a Bee

Eric the Half a Bee, writen by John Cleese and Eric Idle, and arranged by Eric Idle, is one of my all time favorites.  This piece of genius appears in the newer versions of the Fish License Sketch.

Take it away Eric the Orchestra leader.......
(Eric) A-one, two, one two three four.......
(Piano Flourish)

(Spoken intro by John) Half a bee, philospically,
Must ipso facto half not bee
But half the bee, has got to be,
Vis a vis its entity,
You see?
But can a bee be said to be
Or not to be an entire bee?
When half the bee is not a bee,
Due to some ancient injury...

Sing it!

(All singing)
La dee dee,
One, two, three
Eric the Half a Bee
A B C D E F G
Eric the Half a Bee

(John)
Is this a wretched demi-bee
Half asleep upon my knee
Some freak from a menagarie?
(All) No! It's Eric the Half a Bee.

(All)
Fiddle di dum, fiddle di dee,
Eric the Half a Bee
Ho ho ho, te he he

(John)

Bisected accidentally
One summer afternoon by me
