Beyond Python

And Now for Something Completely Different, The Holy Grail, The Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life.  These are all wonderful pieces of film, but for Graham, John, Eric, Terry, Terry and Michael there was life other than Python.  Here are some of the other movies these most talented gentlemen have acted in, writen, and/or directed.

INTERLUDE (1967)

Starring Oscar Werner and Barbra Ferris, but you don't care about that.  The important part is that John Cleese was in it too!

HOW TO IRRITATE PEOPLE (1968)

Okay, okay, this was actually on TV, not a real film.  It was a mock doumentary with Tim Brooke-Taylor, John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Michael Palin, Connie Booth etc.  Like Python it was a series of sketches showing examples of, you guessed it: how to irritate people.

THE BLISS OF MRS. BLOSSOM (1968)

Starring Shirley MacLaine, Richard Attenborough, James Booth... and who can forget John Cleese?

The MAGIC CHRISTIAN (1969)

Starring Peter Sellers with John Cleese and Graham Chapman.  This one is a must-see for all fans.

THE RISE AND RISE OF MICHAEL RIMMER (1969)

Starring Venessa Redgrave, Peter Cook, and John Cleese.  And the screenplay was by John and Graham!

THE CRY OF THE BANSHEE (1970)

Starring Vincent Price and some other people....... and there is a way beyond small, uncredited appearance by Terry Gilliam.

DOCTOR IN TROUBLE (1970)

Starring Lee Phillips, Harry Secombe...etc etc... with an appearance by Graham Chapman!  (Graham co-wrote many episodes of the Doctor series...)

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN DEADLY SINS (1971)

Graham Chapman did not appear in this one, but he was one of the writers of this wonderful bit of film that takes us through seven short stories, from sloth to lust, with each illustrating one of the deadly sins.

Starring Daivd Niven etc etc...... with John Cleese, and Graham was in there too!

Truly a great movie.  Screenplay by Terry Gilliam and he also directed it.  Starring Bobby De Niro and some other people... But Michael Palin is in it!  Michael is so good as Jack Lint that you almost forgive him for being evil.

FIERCE CREATURES (1997)

A sequel to "A Fish Called Wanda", this movie is hillarious!  It stars John, Michael, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline.  It was even better than "A Fish Called Wanda" and is a must see for all John and Michael fans.

BURN HOLLYWOOD BURN (1997)

Eric Idle was in this one too.

GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE (1997)

John was, once again, in this one.

Starship Titanic (1998)

Terry Jones and John Cleese were in this one, with John having a rather odd role as "the bomb"

HERCULES (1998)

Though it was Disney and the story line was an absolute butchery of classic mythology... Eric Idle was in it and that was the film's one saving grace.

QUEST FOR CAMELOT (1998)

Eric Idle, unfotunetely, lent his voice to this one in the stunning role as half of a two-headed dragon.

FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS (1998)

Directed by Terry Gilliam.  It's a good movie, but it'll mess with your head.

THE OUT OF TOWNERS (1998)

John did a vey nice cameo in this one.

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER: THE MOVIE (1998)

Eric Idle lent his voice to this one.

SOUTH PARK: BIGGER, LONGER, AND UNCUT (1999)
