Johan and Ina's 1968 Mercedes Benz 280S

We just had to get another W108! A similar 1968 280S W108 introduced Johan to the Mercedes marque. We sold that car a year ago, but now we have another one -- this time in black.

This car joined the garage last September 12, 2001. We got the car from a Mercedes Benz Club of the Philippines (MBCP) member. Its is very good condition as you can see from the pictures. It has a 2.8 liter SOHC inline-6 engine with two Zenith 2-bbl carburators. It has Power Steering, Heat and "Integrated" Air Conditioning. No Sunroof -- which mean no leaks, no rust. Manual Locks and Windows -- fewer things to go wrong.

When we go it, it had 14" Mercedes Benz OEM alloy wheels with 195/65R14 tires. Although it looked nice and racy, we prefer bigger wheels, hubcaps and white-side walls. Shown below are before and after pictures.

We showed this car in the Mercedes Block Party car show in Rockwell last September 2001. The car took home the 2nd place trophy for the pre-75 models.

Last March 25, 2002, this car left our garage to join the collection of another MBCP member.
