Johan and Ina's 2002 Honda Civic VTi (ES)

"Kaya bang umakyat ng Baguio yan?"

When you need a reliable car that you can drive day-in and day-out, nothing beats a brand new Japanese car.  And this Honda Civic VTi fits the bill very well, thank you very much.

This is Johan's first brand new car, and the buying experience was totally new to him.  Free seat covers, free floor mats, free tint, free undercoating... 100,000 kilometer/3-year warranty.  ("What?  When it breaks, I don't have to fix it myself?" -Johan  "It doesn't break, Honey" -Ina)  And just like that, within days -- the front map-lights went on the blink.  But it was replaced under warranty.   And those customer service reps picked it up from the house, and delivered it after the work ("Wow" -Johan).

We took the car up to Baguio for its break-in and shake-down run.  Lots of room for our luggage and two adult cocker spaniels.  One in the backseat and the other in the front passenger floor.  No glitches, no problems.   Just gas up and go.  And speaking of gas, it returned 12 kilometers/liter during the long provincial trip.   Everyday city driving nets about 9.5 to 10 kilometers/liter.  Not bad, not bad at all.

It comes with a1.6 liter 4-cylinder VTEC-3 engine, 15" Alloy Wheels, AC, PS, PW, PL, Factory Alarm, Clarion In-dash CD Stereo, and Automatic Transmission.  We also got white seatcovers for free and opted for OEM, dealer installed, tweeters for the front door's sail-panels.

The morning after...  I'll probably never see the car *this* clean ever again.

Modifications:  None.  That's the beauty of it all.  Its all stock, and its nice just as it is.
