Lux Radio Theater Synopses
The Lux Radio Theater first aired on NBC October 14, 1934 as a Sunday afternoon show. On July 19, 1935, it moved to CBS and ran on Monday nights until it's last show on June 7, 1955.

About six months after it's first airing, Cecil B. DeMille started hosting the show, a move which insured the survival of the show. When DeMille left after the January 22, 1945 show, Willima Keightley took over as host until it's last show.

Under DeMille's direction, the show dramatized successful films, cast with the original stars whenever possible. It was DeMille's name and the aura of his personality that made the show one, if not the most popular shows of it's time, reaching an audience of 40,000,000
