Joey Whiteaker's Biography
| It all started May 12, 1978. I born in the small town of Sparta, Tennesse as one of the new hospital's first deliveries. I don't remember much about my earlier childhood except for my brother Tim and I crawling to the fridge to get our favorite treat...ice. A also remember my parents fighting a lot, they eventually got a divorce which I think is one of the best things that ever happened to me. My dad remarried and brought my step-brother Marty and his mother Debbie into our lives. The dynamics of this new family worked well as we were given much loving care while with my dad and Debbie, and we had a blast in Sparta with my mom and our friends there. | ![]() Mom in Vegas |

So the years went by and I wound up in high school. High school was fun, I played football, soccer, and did very well in classes. I had decided early on that I was going to be an engineer (actually, it's because I liked Legos so much as a kid). I elected to attend Tennessee Tech because it was close to home, they gave me good scholarship money, and because mom bought me a house there! Having this house would soon prove to be a very nice benefit for me and my friends. |
| I had a blast at Tennessee Tech. School wasn't too hard and I made some great friends. To see pics from this era, check out The Woodland Crew homepage. I graduated from TTU with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Now I'm living in Austin doing my graduate work in Aerospace Engineering for the University of Texas. When I'm finished, I might be able to call myself a "Rocket Scientist!" | ![]() Tim, Me, and Marty on Sea Dream, my parent's sailboat |
