| George Bush keeps hammering for a war. But is it really the best decsion when it comes in term of world peace? Actually it couldnt be more counter-productive. Here are some reasons I came up with why war is a terrible idea. 1. In an already unstable region, if we invade a country that hasnt provoked us, you can bet it will only anger the arab/muslim nations more. Which equals more terrorists to blow up our buildings. But hey if you want .... 2. Iraq has no nuclear weapons. If they did, they wouldve used them, its been ten years and they're still pissed because of the UN sanctions. Also the republicans say that Iraq can have nuclear weapons by 2005, thats in 2 years. We can stop that now if we get them to disarm thru inspectors and dipomacly. 3. Where have all the allies gone? With our only allies Britain(even thou the majority of the population is against), Spain and the former Soviet Union countries, we'd be going in it without some of our oldest allies. And against the UN. If we go against the UN, doesnt that go against what the UN is there for? Its there so people just dont have wars whenever they want. If France, Germany, China, Russia say give inspections more time, its for a reason. 4. Iraq has suffered enough. Saddam's a bad guy, we all agree to that. But killing the Iraqi people and slaugthering theier children is no way to go about it. They have a great deal of suffering put on by the US as it is. 5. No connection with Osama Bin Laden. Osama called Suddam an infidel. Why? Because Suddam and Iraq believes in the more liberal kind of Islam, while Osama and crew go for the more tradtional. Hence why Osama wears a turban and Suddam wears more western like clothes.Osama did call for the Iraqi people to participate in a jhiad, but didn't he call for Muslims in every country to do that? He did. This proves no connection, and actually proves the contray. Al-Quedia and Iraq are by far more enemies than friends. 6. Why does the country with the 2nd largest oil reserves get war when we aren't even sure if they HAVE any weapons or mass destruction, when a country that does have muclear missles and say they are capable of hitting the US, but doesnt not have oil, get almost ignored? North Korea should be our main concern! Unless you can accept the fact that one day Japan or San Fransisco wont be there anymore..... 7. Is all that oil really worth it? I hear the Republicans say theres nothing wrong with a war even if its for oil. Because we will get alot of oil, and its needed to keep America running. Ok then, tell that to the familes of the soilders who are going to fight in the war. Say your son or daughter will die just so you can drive your SUVs that guzzle gas. That'll tell die so OPEC can make more money, that we have no problem letting our young people die so the rich can reap the benifits. If we cut back on SUVs we wouldnt have this oil problem! We would be perfectly fine with the oil we have. How about all those republicans can go fight war if its really that easy. 8. This war is being made by a bunch of cowards. They all seemed to dodge the draft for Vietnam, but when they are able to make some money, Send out the troops! I am sickened by how they are able to sleep at night while they wrap themselves in the flag and claim to be patrotic. Yet the could be nothing farther, as they send our youth to the same kind of conflict that they avoided themselves! |

But hey you can call me anti-american, but whos the more anti-american, the person who exercises there rights, or the person who shut ups goes with the crowd?
