SLIDE-TOGETHER CHAIR

The slide-together chair lets you sit up off the sand at the beach, or it could be set up anywhere. At the beach, sit down, and adjust the chair to a comfortable position by rocking it into the sand. The chair is made of oak 1"x2" slats and assembled with glue and screws. Don't use a soft wood like pine or the slats might break, and oak stands up to water better.

Assemble as in the sketch using the parts list as a guide. The angled cuts on the legs (30-degrees on the seat and 60-degrees on the back) make the chair sit flat on a hard surface; the ones under the seat keep you from scraping the backs of your legs when you get out of the chair. Glue and screw all connecting surfaces; use a screw pilot to set the screws. Sand down all corners and points, and seal or paint the chair as you like.
