Baw Faw Summit

Next Page

Baw Faw Peak is near Boistfort, WA and is one of the tallest points in the state. Therefore it makes a good site for radio towers at 3,111 feet.
Some of the operatives pose by the gate to Baw Faw in the frigid weather while the others stay warm in the vehicle.
View of some of the many towers at the location.
Wonderful view of 3 mountains and surrounding vicinity, including Mount Rainier. Note light snow on the ground. The temperature with wind chill was about 2 degrees F according to the NOAA weather station at the location. In another month this location will be snowed in.
More towers at the site with guy wires leading in all directions. This is the largest concentration of towers we have seen to date.
A closeup of one of the buildings that, like all the others, looks like it has been there since World War II and survived many harsh winters at 3,111 feet.
