This trio of cell towers in Chehalis has been a goal for Nite Crawlers operatives for years. After way too many recon trips to the area, we discovered a possible road leading to them. One problem, this dirt road intersected with one of the busiest intersections in Chehalis and is frequented by Chehalis police units. This is the grand finale of the Summer of 2000 and operatives felt that they had nothing to lose, so they went "all balls" in the words of Goodspeed.

Thanks to some "social engineering" we were able to determine that this site has an amazing amount of vandalism, which means this installation has incredible security. This is the most secure cell site we have visited, which is quite a compliment coming from the Nite Crawlers...

One of the three fences had a wire serving as an electrical ground of some sort. It grounds the fence and barbed wire with a rod into the ground. The Nite Crawlers feel that the fences are grounded out so they won't become charged with the high RF being sent out.

As with all types of towers, these are subject to intense ground testing. However, the ground was littered with these tubes containing some kind of core samples. We would have taken one as a souviner, but they were capped with concrete making them very heavy.

It is unfortunate that under poor lighting conditions our digital camera doesn't take quality pictures, but here is an overall view of one of the buildings and its various components.
