6.11: The One With The Routine
Joey's new roommate Janine has been invited to dance as an extra at the taping of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, and Joey enthusiastically agrees to go with her. He's hoping this will be his chance to win her over when they kiss at fake midnight. Monica and Ross are also thrilled to go along, since it's always been a dream of theirs to perform their high school dance routine on the show. Meanwhile, Rachel and Phoebe take the opportunity to search for their Christmas presents from Monica, and they convince Chandler to join them.
Just Cute

Sexual Issues
In past years, Rachel and Phoebe have looked through Chandler's closet to find their presents. He's horrified that they've seen something he hides back there. I'm thinking it has to be something bizarre and probably sexual, from the way they referred to it. Who knows! Chandler claims weakly that he's storing the stuff for Joey, but no one believes that.
He Doesn't Love Her, Dammit!
Chandler looks thoroughly disturbed by Monica's excitement at getting to dance at the taping. He later laughs at her for being fat and tells her, "You're still just a little fat girl inside, aren't you?" Oh, and they get each other pathetically impersonal Christmas presents. Joey's plastic spoons were more romantic!
Overall
Okay, so I was a little annoyed by the Janine thing, and there weren't even many parts in which Joey and Chandler were together, but at least Chandler and Monica weren't being very romantic. And I did enjoy pretending Janine was Chandler and getting delusional fanfic ideas. So, I guess I can give this episode a 2 on the Joey/Chandler scale. Barely!
