Long Range Surveillance Detachment (LRSD) is home to an elite group of extraordinary paratroopers who possess intelligence, self-reliance, courage, and a love of country. Our mission is a noble one, Long Range Surveillance Detachments are Ranger units and conduct eight primary LRS missions: surveillance, reconnaissance, target acquisition, damage assessment, terrain/weather reporting, and collateral activities. Surveillance is the primary LRS mission. LRS teams are also capable of conducting pathfinder operations, coalition support, combat search and rescue, and disaster relief. This unit not only provides physical challenges, and military training, but will also test your resourcefulness, courage and mental toughness.
