A Moral Tale
A sick woman's husband has just lost his job leaving him without medical insurance or money to pay for his wife's medication. The doctors have told the man that if his wife doesn't get the medication that she needs, she will die.
Knowing that his wife needs the medication, the man heads down to the local pharmacy without any means of paying for his wife's medication. He explains to the pharmacist that his wife needs the medication; that without it, she will die.
The Pharmacist asks for the mans insurance card in a sympathetic voice. The man explains to the pharmacist that he has just lost his job and has no insurance. The Pharmacist then asks the man how he plans on paying for the medication. The man replies that he has no means of paying for the medication, but that he needs it so his wife will not die. In a concerned voice, the Pharmacist explains that without any insurance or means of paying for the medication, that he is unable to fulfill the prescription.
The man walks back home to his sick wife. "Husband," she calls, "where is my medicine?" The man explains to his wife that they have no insurance, and they have no money for the medicine. Knowing her fate, the woman turns in anguish and falls asleep.Knowing that his wife is about to die, the man decides that he would rather take his own life then see his wife die before him. Without any other option known to him, the man takes up his rifle and heads back down to the Pharmacy. Once at the pharmacy, the man holds the Pharmacist at gun point and demands the medicine that his wife needs. The Pharmacist obliges the man's orders and fills the prescription.
The man returns home with the medication and administers it to his wife. As she comes around, the man's wife is shocked to notice her rapid recovery. As the wife asks the man how he was able to get the medication a knock comes from the door along with the demands, "police, open the door!"
