On May 19th, ten seniors were presented Bibles by the U.M.W. All were present to receive their Bible. Congratulations! Best wishes for the future and God Bless you, Lindsay Belt, Scott Brown, Matt Jackson, Cody Marshall, Cristina McDonald, Adam Miller, Lon Norman, Stephanie Riley, Nathan Vance and Jessica Wollard.

On our Day of Renewal, April 18, I alone with almost 200 other women attended at Newark First United Methodist Church. I attended the training session for officers. Each office was represented in the training. Seventy-two members were remembered in the Memorial Service ~ two from our church, Edith Barr and Ruth Bollinger. Our offering was divided between Buckeye Lake Waters Edge Ministries and the Bishops Fund for African Children. The offering on Waters Edge was $586.50 and $150.00 for Bishop Oughs African Orphan project. We were entertained by third and fourth graders from The Par Excellence School in Newark. The afternoon program of Carmen Horns presentation on RAHAB was Outstanding and showed us how not to pin labels on other people without knowing the facts. Our theme was, "Bloom where you are planted."

Our next meeting of the U.M.W. will be on September 12th. We will entertain Smith Chapel, Perryton and Nashport United Methodist Women at 1:00 p.m.

Our Annual Day 2002 will be Saturday, September 21 at Etna United Methodist Church.

     P. S. Thanks to Marilyn Martin for purchasing the Bibles and Marlene Hare for inscribing the names on them and gift wrapping.
