Dear Mr. President,
I am writing this letter with urgency and to request that you support the Federal Marriage Amendment, House Joint Resolution 56 (H.J. RES 56). With the recent ruling in Massachusetts by the Supreme Judicial Court stating that a ban on �Gay� Marriage is currently unconstitutional, it should quickly become obvious how desperate the need is to immediately pass H.J. RES 56.
The courts in this country have now gone from interpreting and protecting the constitution of the United States of America to re-writing it to reflect the moods and morays of other countries and activists, against the will of the majority of Americans. We look to you now, our elected officials to get America�s house back in order. The �rebellious� child, our un-elected activist judges, Anarchist Mayors, Homosexual Lobbyists all need to be reminded of their role and the limitations of their powers.
I urge you to act on the Federal Marriage Amendment as soon as possible and before the May deadline the Massachusetts Court gave to remedy the ban on �gay� marriage. While we could discuss and debate the reasons against allowing �gay� marriage, let me simply list the following.
1) Our founding fathers never intended the constitution to support immoral or socially unacceptable behavior. They recognized that with liberty and freedom come the requirements of self restraint and discernment. John Adams, our second President and one of the architects of the constitution once said �We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.�
2) Unlike a person�s race, there is no medical, scientific or genetic evidence to prove that homosexuality is genetic. There are however thousands of people who have successfully left the homosexual lifestyle and could testify that homosexuality is a choice and can be overcome with proper treatment.
3) Throughout history, every great nation or empire that has embraced and supported homosexuality has fallen within a matter of years.
4) To validate homosexuals by accepting their �unions� and calling them marriage is to deny all the overwhelming evidence that shows that children need both a male and female parent to truly excel and be well adjusted. Two moms or two dads is not the same. Even suggesting so is a betrayal of the trust and effort every heterosexual married couple has put into parenting their children and puts the future of our children at risk.
5) The courts have said that banning �gay� marriage is unconstitutional in Massachusetts, the majority of the people of the United States, however, overwhelmingly oppose �gay� marriage and say that this Federal Marriage Amendment is needed and wanted. This is evident by the fact that 38 States now have a Defense Of Marriage Act stating that marriage in that state shall only be recognized as the union of one man and one woman as well as a Federal Defense Of Marriage Act passed in 1996.
6) In the year 2000, the state of California even passed proposition 22 by an overwhelming majority, banning gay marriage. Yet, this does not seem to concern Mayor Newsom of San Francisco or the hundreds of homosexuals who have illegally applied for and have been granted marriage licenses showing no regard for the law of the state of California, the Federal Defense of Marriage Act or the will of the people as demonstrated by the overwhelming passage of proposition 22. The homosexual activists have proven that if they don�t like a particular law, they will simply disobey it and challenge any authority to stop them. They will reject the legislative process and proceed directly with willful disobedience and illegal actions that fly in the face of our constitutional and democratic process. This is Anarchy.
7) Marriage is the foundation of society. Across the world, for thousands of years marriage has been the union of one man and one woman. The three dominant religions in the U.S. accept this definition and declare homosexuality as immoral and wrong. To not act to prevent this hijacking of society and morality is to condemn our great nation to the fate of those nations and empires who have tried to embrace immorality. The Federal Marriage Amendment MUST be passed NOW.
8) Edmund Burke a political philosopher from the 18th century once said �all that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing�.
I urge to listen to the people of the United States whom you represent and push this Amendment through before the May 17th deadline. Do not let our country be taken over by judicial terrorists, Anarchists and immoral activists who seek to change our way of life as much as foreign terrorists do.
If God is real and the Bible is true, then marriage is one man and one woman. Anyone who would vote against the Federal Marriage Amendment is either saying God is not real or that the Bible is not true. Legislators are going to have to take a stand one way or the other. Please make the stand today for the Federal Marriage Amendment.
Once this battle is won, I urge you to look at limiting Judicial power in this country to keep our country�s future safe and to insure that the legacy we leave generations to come honors those who came before us and bought our liberty and freedom with their blood.
