I am running for San Francisco Assessor-Recorder on November 8, 2005.
Current and Past Experience:
Four (4) years on the San Francisco Assessment Appeals Board.
Five (5) years at the SFPUC - Real Estate Services - managing the PUC's vast real estate holdings.
California State Certified General Appraiser (4 years)
Fifteen (15) years of real estate industry experience ranging from appraising residential and commercial properties to managing large appraisal departments for commercial banks and savings and loan institutions with a staff of 150 or more fee or staff appraisers.
Community Service:
* Local 21 At Large Chapter Member and Assembly Delegate (5 years)
* Project OR - (3 years)
* Project SAFE - (1.5 years)
*Community Advisory Board Member - Mental Health - (2 years)
I have been a San Francisco resident since 1969, attended and graduated from Marina Middle, George Washington High, City College, and the University of California at Berkeley.
If elected, my top priorities will be to ensure:
1) Good financial management of the Office.
2) Improve customer service to taxpayers and other city agencies.
3) Restore the integrity of the Civil Service system and reward employees for merit performances.
4) Increase revenues to the City through active management of the assessment, appraisal, and appeal processes.
I will make sure property taxes are assessed fairly and equitably so that the City will have the necessary resources to fund our schools, senior programs, and public health programs.
