I want to be an Engineer

Below you will find the steps that you must complete for this project.

Step 1

Get with your group members and decide how the simple machines you researched would fit into an actual automobile.

Example: The mouse trap spring functions as a motor because it provides the car with its needed energy.
AS THE CHIEF ENGINEER, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE THE FINAL CHOICES AS TO HOW THE SIMPLE MACHINES are USED IN THE MOUSE TRAP VEHICLE. YOU WILL BE EVALUATED BASED ON THESE DECISIONS.

Have the REPORTER record all the information for this step and steps 2 and 3.

Step 2

You will continue with step 1 until the following simple machines have been used:
These include:
lever, screw, wheel and axle, wedge, and pulley

Step 3

Together, give your car a name:  This name should reflect your groups personality.

Step 4

Once you have decided on placement of the simple machines in the automobile , you will begin the final drawing. SKETCH EVERYTHING INCLUDING EXTRAS.
It is this that builders will use to put together the vehicle. You can find the requirements below.

REQUIREMENTS:

·  use only the paper given to you by the instructor for your final draft of the car

·  use a pencil

·  a ruler must be used for all straight lines and a compass can be used for circles

·  the drawing must be CLEAN and NEAT. Sloppiness will result in a loss of points for you and ONLY you
