Today is my friend Heather's Birthday. Happy Birthday Heather.
I am sitting here watching this movie called "Gimme An 'F'" and thinking about when I was in middle school and high school. One of my dreams was to be a male gymnast like Kurt Thomas.
I realize that some of you people reading this blog especially the male readers probably think that I am a sissy or a weirdo.
I think that I was in 6th grade when I started wanting to be a gymnast. We would go into the weight room where there was also tumbling mats and wrestling mats. I remember watching the girls in my class doing gymnastics and flips. I started doing flips myself.
I always had a fear that I would fall on my head and break something doing cartwheels or being on the uneven bars or the parallel bars or the high bars. I could never do and still can't do a cartwheel.
I don't know what the big deal is. I was just afraid of getting hurt. When I got into high school I wanted to tryout for gymnastics but my high school did not have a male gymnastics team or even a co-ed team.
I am happy that I did not get hurt but at the same time I am disappointed that I never took that chance. Man this really sucks. At least I have my martial arts.
