I had my Kung Fu class tonight. I went through some stances and moves to refresh my memory. I feel that I am progressing better with this review of my martial arts. There is another test coming up in May for my next sash. I feel that I will be ready to test. Some of the moves have been modified however I am quickly learning the new ones and the modified ones. After my Kung Fu class, I had my Sparring class. Tonight we were "Point Sparring". I had four matches. My last match was a tie. However I scored the last point. I feel great there. I also got to see some of my opponent's strengths as well as their weaknesses for sparring. Which is a great thing to notice. You always look for your opponent's strengths and weaknesses. That is why I am never in a hurry to be the first one to start sparring because it gives my a chance to watch the other opponent's moves as well as their blocks and techniques and that way I know were to protect myself better and where to strike on them with their weak spots. My next classes are on Saturday, both Kung Fu and Sparring. I look forward to it. I picked the right time to get back in to martial arts.
Martial Arts has changed my life for the better. I encourage people to study martial arts weather it is for self defense, fitness, whatever. Martial Arts will change your life. Now weather martial arts changes your life for the better or the worse, that is up to you. Hopefully it will be for the better. I have studied all different martial arts throught out my life since I was a child. I started with Tae Kwon Do, watching videos and demostrations of martial arts by my favorite martial artist Chuck Norris. Later I started studying Karate by renting instructional videos from the library. My first official martial arts school that I went to was Chung's Self Defense, studying back in Tae Kwon Do. I left there to find a better school because I felt that Tae Kwon Do was to easy for me and I also could not afford over $ 1,000.00 a year at the time. So I moved back in to the City Of Milwaukee and I found this martial arts school a half of block from my house called Rising Dragon Martial Arts. Little did I know at the time that Rising Dragon Martial Arts, Pai Lum Tao, and my instructor SiGung Jungmann would change my life forever.
That is why today I still study there. Now there are a lot of great martial arts school but Pai Lum Tao are my primary martial arts. I still study Tae Kwon Do & Karate from other schools and books & videos when I have time but I chose to stick with Pai Lum Tao because there is far more to learn. A martial artist will never stop learning. You will never know everything there is to know about martial arts but you can learn more by studying even if you are an Instructor or Master or even a Grandmaster, there is always more to learn.
