Documentation and VIN
Just how origional is this Camaro?
One of the first things that a car judge or restorer will do is go throgh the car and find out how origional it is. Even if the engine and transmission numbers match the origion frame number dosent nearly mean the car is origional... Its a hole new world in accuritly documenting a classic Camaro, or any old car!
          Camaros are
loaded with ID numbers everywhere. GM part #'s were origionaly on every part of the Car when it rolled off the assembelly line. Finding them can be easy if you know where to look. Even then they could easily have corroded or even rusted compltley off! Restoring a Camaro requires more then mechanical knolage...
So is this Camaro here Origional?
                                                            Lets see........
Well, well. Life time warrenty with the, still in business, Bournival car dealer. as of now we get 15% off labor and parts. This find will save us HUGE ammonts of money in the future.

...But not only that!
The VIN on this sheet (look above "body type") Matches the VIN on the Car presently. BOO YA!
As you can see the car was purchased with
42,000 miles on it on APRIL 11, 1973, in the name of my Grandfather Henry.
This is an example of a car that is documented. However we still need to decode the VIN and COWL tag to see if this car has been altered...
Note the Bournival emblem on the back off the Car. I am holding the very same book used when the Car was purchased.
COWL tag and VIN!
This is the COWL tag that was on every first gen, and most all other cars even today. Decoding this may look hard but its wicked simple. This is a qwick way to assess your Camaro and tell weather or not it is oringional, at least a few parts of it...
