Match 1
"R6GE International
Championship Tournament"
Jay Briscoe defeated "The Show Stealer" Michael Shane via pinfall.
The match was hotly contested, with Jay starting out with a big slap to the face of Shane, ordering him to "MAN UP!" Hard were prominent in this match. Shane attempted to hold the tights on a roll-up, the ref saw it and Shane made the mistake of arguing with the ref for too long and walked right into a spin kick and the Country Fried (Chickenwing) Piledriver that ended this match and advanced Briscoe into the semi-finals.
Match 2
"R6GE International
Championship Tournament"
Randy Orton defeated Cody Deaner via pinfall.
Deaner had all of the fans behind him, as he started by stomping and clapping and having a good time. The good times didn't last too long, as the onslaught from Orton and his cheap tactics and hard, ruthless shots were too much for the good ol' boy to handle. Orton unveiled his new finishing move, The Killshot (Kick to the head while Deaner is doubled over) to knock him out and get the pinfall.
Match 3
"R6GE International
Championship Tournament"
"The Darkness" Devon Storm defeated "The Revolution Man" Matt Hardy via pinfall.
The fans are clearly behind Hardy, here, as the maniacal Storm broods and tries to work him down with a pin pointed attack on the legs. Storm gets the victory with his Darkness Falls (Flying DDT) finisher in an impressive, high impact match.
Match 4
"The Bombay Badboy" Sonjay Dutt & Frankie Kazarian defeat Jack Evans & "The Hardcore Icon" Justin Credible via pinfall.
Fun, fast paced match, with Credible playing the ring general a bit for his team and guiding Evans in his heelish ways. Kazarian caught Evans with the Metal Blade (Shellshock aka Modified Complete Shot) to get the pinfall while Credible was down on the floor. After the match, Credible whacks Kazarian with his Singapore Cain and the fans boo the crap out of him for it!
Match 5
"Hardcore Rules"
"The Loose Cannon" Nick Dinsmore defeated Ricky Bandera via submission.
Bloody technical brawl by two ring veterans. Dinsmore gets the submission using barbed wire to modified a Crippler Crossface.
Match 6
Low Ki defeats "Death Proof" Paul London, "The Straight Edge Vigilante" Josh Prohibition, and "The Rising Son" Chris Sabin via pinfall.
This match was very chaotic, death defying, and exciting. While it was relatively short, it was the break neck pace that was the cause of it. London's 450 plancha onto everybody on the floor was probably the highlight of the match. Sabin and Prohibition both came very close to winning this match on seperate occassions, but it was the knock out power of Low Ki's blows and his tenacity that saw him get the victory after a running front dropkick to Josh's chest that sent him through the ropes and to the floor and then rolling backwards and catching London with a ganmenjiri as he stood on the apron, trying to get in, followed by a series of reversals with Sabin that lead to a Ki Krusher '99 victory.
Match 7
"R6GE International
Championship Tournament"
"Classic" Colt Cabana defeats Chris Jericho via submission.
This match was full of psychology, as the arrogant Jericho came to the ring and cut a short promo about how he's been a marquee star in this business for a long time and should be automatically advanced to the finals without having to deal with any of these nobodies. He IS the "rage", in his opinion. Cabana came out unphased, though, Barry Manilow jamming and towel twirling and the fans were all behind him. It was a tough contest that saw Jericho go to the dirty tricks, and saw Cabana one-up him and embarrass him at times before getting into a technical exchange that saw him wrench the arm and sweep the leg and twist him up into a Devil's Lock (Armlock Cloverleaf) and get the submission! Jericho threw a big temper tantrum afterwards and actually smashed Cabana with a chair to get the fans really mad, but Jericho was run out of the ring by Paul London and Frankie Kazarian before anymore punishment could be done.
