It is the will of all the leaders at
the G8 however that the meeting should continue in my absence, that we should
continue to discuss the issues that we were going to discuss, and reach the
conclusions which we were going to reach. Each of the countries round that
table have some experience of the effects of terrorism and all the leaders, as
they will indicate a little bit later, share our complete resolution to defeat
this terrorism ... It is important however that those engaged in terrorism
realise that our determination to defend our values and our way of life is
greater than their determination to cause death and destruction to innocent
people in a desire to impose extremism on the world. Whatever they do, it is
our determination that they will never succeed in destroying what we hold dear
in this country and in other civilised nations throughout the world u Video

Terrorist Attack: A Joint Statement from the Muslim Council of Britain
and Churches Together in Britain and Ireland
Deepest
sympathy is expressed at the death and suffering which the series of
co-ordinated attacks in London has caused to the families and loved ones who
have been the victims of this terrible atrocity. This criminal attack is
condemned in the strongest possible terms. No good purpose can be achieved by
such an indiscriminate and cruel use of terror. The scriptures and the
traditions of both the Muslim and Christian communities repudiate the use of such
violence. Religious precepts cannot be used to justify such crimes, which are
completely contrary to our teaching and practice

The members of the MSF, including the Muslim Directory, watched with dismay,
shock and deep sadness the events that unfolded today in London.
As
Londoners, our first thoughts are with those who have been injured or lost
their lives and with their families. Following early indications that the
blasts this morning are likely to have been a coordinated terrorist attack, the
MSF would like to express its total condemnation of such terrible acts and
gross violations of the law of humanity. The MSF would like to re-iterate that
the true message of Islam is one of Peace, Justice and the love of humanity.
Islam holds the sanctity of human life in the highest possible regard and
shedding the blood of an innocent person is seen as a most heinous and
repulsive crime ...

9-11, the Administration has yet to arrive at a clear
definition of the enemy or the aim in the War on Terrorism; to date, American
policy has combined ambitious public statements with ambiguity on critical
particulars. Heretofore, the costs of pursuing such ambitious but ill-defined
goals have been high but tolerable. The ongoing insurgency in Iraq, however, is
increasing the costs of grand strategic ambiguity to the point where
fundamental choices can no longer be deferred. There are two broad alternatives
for resolving these ambiguities and creating a coherent and logically
sufficient grand strategy: rollback and containment ... u Dokument

Global Terrorism Analysis is produced by The Jamestown
Foundation. Since September 11, 2003, Jamestown has been publishing Terrorism
Monitor, a bi-weekly journal providing in-depth, objective analysis on al-Qaeda
and the War on Terror. Jamestown has continually expanded on its coverage of
terrorism and security issues, utilizing indigenous sources and with attention
paid to frequently un-reported or under-reported topics. Spotlight on Terror is
our occasional publication with interviews, special features or analysis of
breaking news. Terrorism Focus began publication in August 2004 as a bi-weekly
complement to Terrorism Monitor, and has since found a niche in providing
timely analysis on events in global terrorism, with extensive translations and
