| My sister and I went to get our Aerosmith tickets at a place where our local radio station put tickets on sale an hour earlier than they were supposed to. They do a lottery here, so she got at one point in the line and I spaced myself out so our numberrs would be far from each other so our chances would be better. Her daughter went with us and was about 6 at the time. The DJs let her daughter pull the number and she picked one and my ticket happened to be the third one, so we got second row seats. It was the first time around for the Nine Lives Tour. (They came two years in a row for that tour to Kansas City.) So we got second row which was the best seating we've had at that time. We were so thrilled. We went home and watched the video "Hole in my Soul" and talked about how we loved Steven's hair highlighted, so we went to the store and highlighted our hair. We even took pictures with the highlighting stuff in our hair as we were holding up our tickets. It reminds us of that great feeling we had when we look back on that picture. We had to wait a couple of months for the show which about killed us. Finally...SHOW TIME! There we were trying hard to talk the promotions manager of SandStone in Kansas City to let us backstage, all he could do for us was give us the set list. Which was more than we had before so we were a little happier. There we were on Brad's side. We flirted like crazy with him. He was enjoying it also. During a song he went over to the side of the stage and had a conversation with a guy backstage. We didn't think anything of it. Then later, I happened to catch eye contact with this guy and he held up two fingers and his hand as if to say "You two stay there." We're like Ok...we're not going ANYWHERE! So he came out with two backstage passes. I couldn't believe it. I thought I was gonna pee my pants. When the show ended we went to the gate and had quite a wait before we could get back there. Once there, they took us with about 30 other people who had won passes through radio stations and such to a room kind of like a cafeteria. We waited again for about an hour and finally Tom Hamilton came out. He was wonderful. He talked with people and everyone got his autograph. I got his twice cuz he seemed to have the time to hang out. He was really cool. Then about a half hour later, the door opens and Steven pops his head through it a little and says they gotta make it quick so they can catch their plane. People swarmed to him. He was wonderful. He had jeans and a polo type shirt and smelled SOOOOO gooooooooood. He signed my shirt, the same one Tom did and I have it in a frame hanging on my fireplace with the backstage pass in it also. Tom also signed my ticket stub. They were both so friendly. I just wish I could have met Brad and thanked him for one of the very best nights of my life. P.S. I'm telling ya, next time I meet Steven, he's signing my left arm just where his Mama Kin tattoo is and I'm going straight to the tattoo place and they're putting him permanently on my arm! |
