Madden  0 -07   0-06  Derrynoose

This was another low scoring encounter with both side's defenses on top. This game was not without its share of drama though with referee Dooley pulling 7 minutes injury time out of his ....... out of nowhere I mean. The score was 4 3 to Madden at half time with a long Martin O Rourke point giving the home side the advantage just before the break. Kieran Mc Geeney did a good job in marking Derrynoose dangerman Mark Murry who was having "a bad day at the office" as someone mentioned to him. Derrynoose had a good goal chance with the ball hitting the post and the follow up being brilliantly blocked by Paddy O'S. Madden had their own goal chance with Paul Mc Grane's ferocious drive hitting the underside of the crossbar and had another effort saved by the Noose goalie. No match report would be complete without a dislocated finger storey and this one is no different. Fair play to the Derrynoose physio for putting it back in allowing Pat Spillane to play on. Madden held on to their one point advantage. Mc Grane was shown the second yellow for a deliberate foul on Murray 4 minutes into injury time as he knew Murray would miss the free which he did. Dooley had no luck as no matter how long he let the game go on Derrynoose couldn't equalise .
