This was a historic day in Madden football whereby in breaking with nearly a century of tradition the Madden B team did a warm up before the game. This galvanised the Raparees into a memorable performance punishing Keady who as favourites were never in the match. Competition for places in the Madden side was cut throat with man-of -the-match from the week before, Shane Mc Cusker falling to the bench along with Beavis Devlin who was helicoptered in from Chester for the game.
Declan Mc Elvanna and Wishie Grimley were a joy to behold with performances that any allstar full back would be proud of. Super sub Micky Grimley scored a goal and two points, you could tell he was up for this game right from the warm up. Overall this was a fine performance from Madden who blew away the opposition and have sent out a real warning to other sides in the competition to take note.
