| Middletown 1 11 2 11 Madden For the second week in a row Madden B team faced Middletown who were mad out for revenge after loosing the previous match in the championship. Middletown looked to be running away with it in the first half, with their strongest team out in force Middletown kicked some good points over from ackward angles and had the ball in the net, when a loose ball fell into the hands of the full forward who finished from ten yards out. The highlight of the first half for Madden was Micky Grimley's volley which struck the crossbar, more in tune with Champion's league than B football. The score was 1 08 to 3 points to Middletown at half time things were looking bad for the Raparees. Francy Mallon gave an in-depth critical analysis of the first half performance. The midfield was shite and the forwards were .....shite..................desparate. It was then that the Bomber McGuiness delivered a speach that was remonisant of the speach William Wallace gave to his army before going into battle in Braveheart. This inspired the raparees to go out in the second half fired up, and beat into the opposition the way they did in the same film braveheart. Middletown had the first attack which resulted in a wide but after this it was Madden with wave after wave of attack. 2 times Ulster Interfirm's winner Vincent Mc Cusker weighed in with 3 points by his own admission and 1 point in reality. A Micky Grimley goal cut the deficeit to two points. Brain Morgan was playing a blinder Stevey Smith scored a point from an impossible angle, Micky Grimley, not wanting to be undone scored a point from an impossible angle on the other side. Beavis Paddy Mc C, Jimmy Moore and indeed everybody started playing out of their skins. Micky Grimley, still in Champion's League mode scored Madden's second goal of the game putting the Raparees 3 up. The final insult to Middletown was in bringing on Laim Smith who taunted the opposition, taking the ball off them, then giving it back to them. All this ment Decky Mc Elvanna was back in Lennons for a pint on a Wednesday evening. The B Team remain unbeaten, top of the league and still in the Championship. With two tough games coming up against the Harps Madden will be hoping to field a full strength squad with the Greene brothers back and Big Mac back from his training camp in La Manga. |
