Round Malaysia
3-10 July 2004
...I got my free booze tonite...it was earlier agreed upon whoever is later than 15mins will buy the beer tonite at Cameron Highlands. it's already 25min past the time!..Vincent ended up buying a bottle of wine and i paid for the steamboat...what a meal to start off the trip!
...the yogurt is 1 week expired...what the heck...it's fermented milk anyway...Vincent and Uncle Teng advised me against taking it...to the peril of my stomach...i had food poisoning for the rest of the journey...
..the view at the weather station was breathtaking as usual, the clouds took over soon after and before we could start our bikes, it started to POUR! We met Mr Guna who invited us to his humble abode and we had local tea and banana fritters...
...we arrive at THE JUNCTION, where turning left will be ipoh and turing right will be the much anticipated GUA MUSANG road...it used to be a 4-wheel-drive route, the endless winding and undulating roads is simply too good to be true....100km of it in ALL....
...seeing the sunset at Gua Musang is melancholic...the town is surprising hot and dusty but during the monsoon season, it floods and shops have to be shut for days!
...Kota Bahru's lingo is really interesting...they use short forms for everything including the price...i usually know it's RM4.80 but when the prata man asked for the same amount in KB-lingo, i was buffled!
..the journey to Kuantan was long and tiring...we did not even stop at kuala trengganu to see the developments of the city...from the magnificant bridge, it looks pretty developed from the days when my parents drove here when i was like 14...
...my stomach is still telling me NOT to touch seafood...had Nasi Goreng while vincent had rendang and we shared the indian rojak...the streets of kuantan were very cool indeed after the evening shower...we spent the evening watching jackie chan's latest movie "Around the World in 80 days"
...there's no direct route to melaka from Kuantan...we had to detour a little....so much so that we actually travelled  300km since we left kuantan at 11am via segamat...melaka was sunny and it was going to be our last stop for the trip...
...it's the last stop and Vincent have not had his seafood yet...i dun care if i have to visit the toilet the whole night, wat the heck...the irony of the whole food poisoning episode was it ended when the trip ended...when i arrived home!...otherwise it was a fantastic trip!
