Shanda hadn't been feeling the greatest all day and when Joel got home from work, she was laying on the couch, facing the back. Joel kept asking Shanda to "come here" to which she kept replying "no" and "why?" Finally, Joel came into the living room and sat down on the coffee table.
He started to say that he knew they had looked at rings but that right now, getting one of them was not going to happen. He went on to say that he didn't want Shanda to have to wait anymore and he didn't want to wait anymore. At this point, Shanda realized what was happening and said "not now, not here" because she felt as though she looked icky and didn't feel the greatest.
Joel dropped to one knee and took Shanda's left hand in his and asked her to marry him. She agreed and he slid the ring onto her finger. Of course Shanda got a little misty eyed and they hugged. Finally she looked at the ring.
