Position Description:
  I worked as a co-op employee for one summer, serving as a project manager's assistant.  I was involved in a project to sub-contract a full scale paper mill, and provide all of the equipment, expertise, and engineering.  My major functions were working with the purchasing team to procure the most efficient labor and working with the sourcing team to find quality materials.  I gave limited engineering expertise, but was mainly focused to deal with the customer and vendors.

1st. Co-op Term:
Position Description:
My first Co-op term, I worked for
Industrial Systems in a DC Motor plant in Dothan, AL.  The first month of the term I worked with a Six Sigma Blackbelt on a project to outsource motor components that were being made by demestic plants.  For the rest of the term, however, I was placed at the head of a production line of two-pole DC Motors.  I co-ordinated the production, managed the labor, and planned the scheduling of an assembly line that produced and average of $100,000 per week of output.  During my leadership, the line's production increased by 35% and a backlog of 134 motors was reduced to 2.  Also, I attended Six Sigma Greenbelt E*training, and worked on several Six Sigma projects.

2nd. Co-op Term:
Position Descriptoin:
My second Co-op term, I transfered to
Power Systems in the Energy Production Department.  I worked on an engineering team constructing a power plant.  I gave general mechanical engineering assistance, and worked with the Project Manager on communication with the customer and vendors.
