Jean is a hugonot who is fleeing from the tyranny of Louis IX (who, will ironically be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church, and have the city of St. Louis, MO. named after him by Pierre Laclede one of his noblemen) as he reverses the EDICT of NANTES which was essentially a peace treaty drawn up to stop the slaughter of innocent Christians during the "St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre". He immigrated on 12 Aug 1700 to Manakintowne, VA. ⁽⁹⁹⁾ A John Parmeton is brought into VA. in 1653 by Francis Hale of ______ Co. 1. This is a reliable source, and validated by communication with Jay K. Griffin of Atlanta GA.
