How To Care For Your Medinai

Steps to make sure you have a happy Medinai
Step 1:
make sure that you have a large enough tank for your medinai.  if not you may notice chin blisters, from rubbing on the glass, and skittishness.  if you notice a large amount of skittishness when you turn the lights on perhaps you may need to dim them down with tint on the glass of the hood.  other methods involve wrapping the lights in aluminum foil and poking holes in it.

Step 2:
add live plants (or fake if you have to) and drift wood.  you will probably find that the more hiding places you provide the less your medinai will actually hide.

Step 3:
feed your medinai frequently, but not so much that it compramises the cleanliness of your tank.

Step 4:
water quality is essential for quick growth rate in any piranha.  make sure to do water changes of 30-45% if you clean the tank once a week, and water changes of 20% if you do it twice or more a week.

Step 5:
pay close attention to your fish.  make sure it is parasite and fungus free.  if you notice ich or injuries try adding aquarium salt and upping the temperature.  if that doesn't work than try some medications.
